DOLFINA's Journey

My name is Jodell Bumatay, I am the founder and director of  DOLFINA - A Ministry of Lucidity. I was born into an Ilocano Tribal family lineage of "Gate keepers of Death & Rebirth". In 1979, when I was 12, I had an out-of-body experience (my mom's aunt had explained, that year, to me that my childhood experiences of leaving my body at nap time while in grade school were called "Out of Body Experiences" which I recall having since I was seven years old) of flying to the Philippine Islands and hovering above Manila. I saw the lights at night from the sky above. I knew where I was but did not know how I knew. I also never thought about traveling to the Philippines before.

The following year, in 1980, my Grandfather Arneldo Bumatay migrated from the Ilocos Sur region of the Philippines during the 1920s as an agricultural laborer. Along with his cousins, he worked in the fields in various states of the Pacific Coastal Regions and Texas. Our extended family settled in those areas including Hawaii where our relatives spell their name Bumatay for better pronunciation- Boo Ma Tie. Grandpa Bumatay retired after working for thirty years as a government worker -machinist- for Mare Island Navel Base. Several of his cousins earned college degrees and from those origins more than 70 Bumatays around the world are Engineers. Other prominent occupations are Doctors and Teachers.

Grandpa regularly traveled back to the Philippines. He announced his plans to go the Philippines to visit his sister and relatives and one year I was invited to travel to the Philippine Islands with my grandparents in December 1980 where I met my extended family in the Philippines for the first time and discovered that my Great Aunt Feline Bumatay-Viloria was a "Faith Healer."

After I entered the university, my Grandfather Bumatay, passed away and began coming back to me in dreams. I began to pray to my ancestors for guidance. I felt drawn to my ancestral spirits.

For many years, beginning as a child, I have learned how to travel through space, time, and energy by the guidance of spirit beings, (spirits of many types):

In 1993, I had a series of experiences in which spirit beings guided me through parallel dimensions of reality and gave me my Life Mission in a letter written in gold addressed to DOLFINA. This is how it happened:

"I was in a room alone. It was a large square room with black and white checkered square tiles. The tiles were about twelve dream inches. I was in the center of the floor sitting on a chair. There was no other furniture. For some reason I knew there were other rooms with other people alone in them. Then, one of the tiles slide open and two men came out and said, "Come on…"
They wanted me to follow them and I did. I found myself underneath the room in a smaller room with monitors like computer monitors. They told me that they were "Rescuing" me "from the Mind Controllers." They gave me "a debriefing" and let me out by opening the wall behind me. I left in a Golden Light Body. I was a transparent being with whitish light inside my Gold Light Body outline. As I left the room, I found myself walking near the Sonoma State University Library and seeing other people, who I had known in Sonoma County, yet not all were students. They were saying, "Hello Jodell.." as I walked past them.
Everyone I saw was in a Gold Light Body filled with white light on the inside. I was realizing that I went to Sonoma County for a Reason and that I knew these people from another level of reality, a soul being reality, I thought.
Then I noticed that there was a letter in my left hand. I opened it up and it started:

"Dear Dolfina, We are pleased with the work that you have been doing…"."

That year, Spirit Beings guided me through the layers of reality and taught me how to use my energy inside the layers of multidimensional realities. I received the teachings that I now use for training students and apprentices that I call The 7 Modes of Lucidity. Also, that year, my hand "accidentally" passed through the waistline of a close friend. I could feel the warmth of fluids in my hands. I knew that meant that I would, some day, become a Psychic Surgeon. But I did not know what that truly meant.

In 1994, my grandfather introduced me to a past life with an ancestor who was an Ancient Asian Priest/King who spoke in an ancient language, yet telepathically to me, and told me he was a "sacred being and I could not touch him." It was a turning point for me. In that same year, I began receiving information in the form of letters in my visions. A monkey in a jungle gave one such letter to me. Within days, I became involved with a project in the El Peten Jungle in Guatemala and traveled there to live in the forest for a few months. During my travels to Central America I was drawn to Belize and the Yucatan coastline. As I returned to the United States, I chose to live in Santa Cruz, California due to the similarity of atmosphere. Coincidentally, my mother's mother had been buried in a cemetery in Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz became my home base and I have been teaching workshops and classes in Introduction to Lucidity.

In 1995, arriving in Santa Cruz , I began writing the course syllabus for The 7 Modes Of Lucidity and began working towards creating workshops and classes for small groups in San Jose and Santa Cruz. Over the years, I have followed the practices laid out by spirit guides and written into my journals, notes, and have always tracked my experiences with following up on research to correlate my findings. My approach has been to learn from Spirit Beings, then do research to discover psychic data and case studies.

In 1996, I began research about the Internet, Web Design, and Programming. I discovered the GNU software licensing which now operates the DOLFINA Headquarters Network for designing and developing www.dolfina.org and satellite sites since then. GNU software, founded by Richard Stallman, fit my vision of  Dreaming Of Lucid Freedom IN America. I had teaching workshops based upon my core teachings and had the vision that DOLFINA could offer courses online.

In, 1997, the first website for DOLFINA was finally created and put online. Working with Lloyd Ellis Llewellyn, graphics designer, and Edwin Rugh, web designer, we co-created the basic design for the first version of the website. Throughout time, I have become the webmaster as well as the maintainer of the Lucid Dreaming Webring. The website is designed with GNU software (went through many versions of Linux since then) now on Mandrake-Linux operating system (with one dual boot machine - Mandrake-Linux & Win98) whenever possible to support the free software community.

In 1998, I chose to become an Ordained Minister of Lucid Co-Creative Reality within AIWP: DOLFINA became chartered by AIWP as DOLFINA - A Ministry of Lucidity of AIWP, a local congregation of AIWP, with non-profit religous status. This began work being brought out to the public as a set of teachings and techniques within AIWP. Through the University of AIWP (UAIWP) and the University for Integrative Learning (UIL of AIWP), DOLFINA - College of Lucidity can grant credit towards a B.D., M.D. and P.D. of Spirituality or Divinity. These degree granting programs are state acknolwedged courses. Through DOLFINA Online Courses, a learner, enrolled as a student, can earn a degree through non-resident courses. Lloyd Ellis was the first member of  the DOLFINA Board of Advisors as a designer for the graphics and logos. Liliana Lato became the second BOA member as an editor and photographer. Others have volunteered over the years: Wioletta Kaminska, editing; Edwin Rugh, html editing, Judith Cartwright-Van Zevern (Mom), design critique. And,  all work has been volunteered, thus DOLFINA is a Free Enterprise Zone because there has been no exchanges of any kind.

In 1999, I met a man named Ray who was born and raised in the Philippine Jungles. I asked him the meaning of "Bumatay". He said, "It means Gate Keeper to Death & Rebirth or   Psychic Surgeon. Your ancestors were protectors of the lineage of this ancient knowledge." I told him that it finally made sense to me why I had been teaching people how to face their death through my classes. Within a week or two after that, I read an article by Harvey Martin in Nexus Magazine and contacted him about my teachings hoping that he knew more about my family ancestry. He returned my email by validating me that the "power perform psychic surgery was derived from the religious beliefs and practices of a select group of Filipinos. The religious beliefs and practices that I speak of emerged in the Northern Luzon among the Ilocanos at turn of the century." Martin had received his Christian Mediumship Training from the The Christian Spiritists of the Philippines by Reverend Benjamin J. Pajarillo.

In the year 2000, I discovered Jaime T. Licauco research and contacted him about my work with the spirit guides. He wrote, "I believe you are one of those being trained by spirits directly. I've met some Philippine psychic surgeons and other healers who had such kind of apprenticeship. I suggest you keep a dream journal so you can record all the lessons." After reading his books about the Filipino Psychic Surgeons, my life experiences of traveling out-of-body, to different dimensions of space and time and learning how to use energy began to make more sense to me than ever before. I now understood that I was being trained by my experiences with spirit guides.

In 2001, I have begun comparing The 7 Modes of Lucidity with work of scientific research and theory. Quantum Physics & Relativity have abstract ideas and concepts which might explain experiences which the metaphysicians and mystics have been describing for eons. These experiences have been known and referred to as Religious Experiences. Scientists, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, and Medical Doctors have been studying these experiences under the study called Parapsychology for over three decades. Scientific experimentation has pointed to evidence that psychic events do occur. I have been culminating my life long study of these realms of knowledge and have been comparing data the scientists have discovered with data I have discovered in my own work.

The Year 2002, scientists began to participate in our workshops, teachings, and presentations. MISAHA Director S. Savva, Russian Psi Engineer-Scientist, participated in giving an introduction to the Russian and Asian Sceintific Psi Research. The timing could be none the less perfect as this was the first series of courses that was attended by a Genetic Cancer Research Scientist. The year held many opportunities to discuss, especially FMBR Co-Founder William Gough, with the Scientific view points of the Psyche, Soul, as well as communicate Spiritual Practice within the community of Scientific Researchers.Among the year's communications was between myself Mark Macy of the Electronic Voice Communications projects. My goal for this year has been to create a free communication between Science and Religion. As it is my belief that Science evolved from Religion and that they are not separate in reality. Any Theory of Creation is Theology - the Study of God - Source, Cosmos.

A glimpse of 2003 holds the fortune that I was given the opportunity to present The Essence of Psychic Surgery for a filled hall of academics, scientists, doctors, and alternative healers at the O'Conner Catholic Hospital on January 24, 2003. This was the Great Inquisition of Psychic Surgery. At last, the Sciences will be opening their deaf ears to allowance of Dimensions of the Soul of the Indigenous Peoples of this Planet Earth. Marking this date is the attendance of prior Remote Viewing Director, Russel Targ, whom after losing his own daughter (may she rest in peace) to Psi Healing Research, came as a sign that Scientists are still learning about Death and Rebirth from the Gatekeepers of our Mother Earth. The goal of this year is to communicate that the Soul is beyond Theory, Ideals, Concepts, and that each being on this Planet defines reality according to awareness of their Soul. Great waves are being surfed this year as many Light Beings are working on gaining acceptance of the mainstream. As the under currents of the fear, anger and pain seem to bring us under toe, the Light of the Soul leads us to the Source of our existence on this Planet. And, that Eternal Essence will guide us to the Light regardless of the intensity of feeling real. To end the mission of the year, I met with Elders of the Ilocano Tribe. It was my greatest honor to meet with Uncles Marcos and Alex Orbito along with Rev. Edwin Agpoa, Jaime Licauco and the President of the original Espiritas Union of the Phippines.

Ever since I had visited my relatives in the Philippines in 1980-81, I knew about "Psychic Surgery" yet I never pursued a Filipino Psychic Surgeon as a teacher. Of course, if I knew anyone of them were here in the United States, I probably would have tried to find one. Yet, over the course of coming out of the closet as a "Psychic Surgeon in spiritual training", I have met many, many people, who come both as students and clients and who have traveled to the Philippines and received "Fourth Dimensional Surgery" (coined by Ormond McGill and Ron Ormond in "Religious Mysteries of the Orient", 1976)  by  "Faith Healers"  who practice "bare-handed surgery" by reaching inside another person's body and pulling out diseased tissues. It was not until I met Ray that I knew that I was being given a signal from the universe to pursue my training as a Psychic Surgeon.

In recalling all of my own psychic healers and teachers I have learned from, a few had trained with the Filipino Psychic Surgeon from the San Francisco Bay Area. Although through the years when I was just a student or client my self, I never knew this Filipino man's identity. So, in the background of my own psychic training, a man had influenced me although I never met him. My guidance tells me that it is Jose Martinez whose style of healing is very similar to my own though I have only found out his name in more recent years. Those who have been trained by him have said they "feel his Spirit Guiding" them when they do healing work.

Among my first known spirit guides was Yvonne, my nanny when I was a baby. She became my Spirit Guide after she died. I began communicating with her at the age of three. I was also connected to Harold Houdini as a Spirit Guide; I read about his life and learned the difference between stage magic and real magic while I was in elementary school. My Great Aunt Phyllis taught me that being psychic was okay and not a sin. My Great Aunt Feline, who was a powerful woman who without ever speaking to me, in English, showed me things telepathically and passed down the Ilocano heritage (of Psychic Surgery) to me through her heart and eyes. My Grandfather Bumatay materilizes to me in the forms that he has been evolving through as a Spirit. Other Spirits who have taught me have come and visited and taught me include: Light beings with Glowing Blue eyes, Aborigines who taught me how to laugh at my fear, Ancient Oriental beings from Asia, a few from the Middle East with Turbines, one from Africa who could make himself bigger and smaller, a group that were dark brown and pudgy big heads in military uniforms who wanted me to join them (similar beings have been described by Filipino Folk Tales), a Green Guy with an Elfish face, and many more who look like every day humans, a three feet tall alien from Roswell Incident, and many others that come and go.

While I was in college, I chose to study Philosophy: my main emphasis was on Aesthetics and Ethics whereas I began to understand the connection between the Ancient wisdom of intuition through art, science and logic. I discovered that the early Greek philosophers spoke about metaphysics and developed methods of studying the world through isolating the subtle differences between qualities (meaning or quality) and the quantity (identity or quantity) of objects in our world. Modern science owes its roots to the methods of processing thoughts, ideas, concepts and theories to the Ancient Schools of Wisdom from every culture of the globe. I learned to validate methods of studying my own psychic experiences and, in my own healing process, have developed my core courses to train others to experience their own perceptual abilities.

My goal as Director of DOLFINA has been to create a course of training for leaders and teachers who will pass on the ancient knowledge of Psychic Surgery as well as train others to develop their own psychic abilities in order to share information and experiences with the global family. Psychic Surgery is a psychic capability which demonstrates the ability to enter a state of perceiving energy and utilizing the forces or laws of the universe in order to heal ones' self or another person. The word Surgery used in the coined phrase, Psychic Surgery, is not a medical procedure, a puncture or an incision through the skin. It is a Spiritual Manifestation of Soul healing the Cellular Body.
